Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

St. Paul’s is Joining the Jordan Project!

The Jordan project is a program offered through the ELCA and Grandview University in Des Moines whose goal is to lift up and empower rural congregations in the Midwest. This program starts in September and runs through May of 2025. During this time, Pastor Joanna and a small group of lay members will participate in this program and walk with St. Paul’s as we have conversations about who we are as a community and how God is calling us in ministry as we look toward our future. As part of this program, St. Paul’s will:

  • Reflect on our congregation’s history as well as our current values and mission

  • Explore new ways to do ministry in a quickly changing world

  • Build and strengthen relationships with our neighbors and partners in Falls City

  • Design and create a ministry project to meet a need in the Falls City community

We are excited to join this project and can’t wait to see how God will inspire us to serve and strengthen our ministry and community!

Fall Fun at St. Paul’s!

Fall Benefit Supper

We hosted a benefit supper for the community complete with delicious homemade meatballs! Proceeds raised helped a member in our community undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Pastor Joanna was dared to dress up in a cow costume after the congregation collected 300 food items for our local food pantry!

God’s Work, Our Hands!

Summer Fun at St. Paul’s!

Our Picnic and Pool Party was a Success!

At the end of June we had our annual picnic and pool party at the Falls City Aquatic Center. The event was open to the community and we had a great turn out!

It was a great chance to connect with our neighbors and it was a fun evening! Thank you to our volunteers who helped us to organize and pull off the event.

Vacation Bible School was a Blast in June!

We had a real “splash” of a week at our ocean-themed Vacation Bible School hosted in June!

The 30 children who attended VBS learned that God is a true friend as they sang songs, listened to Bible stories, played games and learned about God’s creation through science activities.

When asked what they enjoyed most about VBS, several of the kids shouted “EVERYTHING!”

Thank you to all of our leaders, volunteers and kiddos who helped to make it a great week!
